About this Event
Heroes and Villains:
Characters that are larger than life are often the most fun to play but also the most difficult to play effectively. How do we find reality in a role and a situation that are clearly beyond what we have experienced personally? Whether you choose to bring a vengeful killer or a Marvel Superhero, this is the class to throw your emotions and imagination into overdrive. What makes that BAU unsub so incredibly creepy? What makes an audience jump to their feet when a king is triumphant? Ultimately, an actor who can find the humanity in any storytelling is an actor we want to watch.
You are invited to bring a memorized monologue and stretch your capacity to find your authentic extremes.
Kim Rhodes is best known for her television roles as ultra-mom Carey Martin on Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and the intrepid Jody Mills on CW’s “Supernatural”, where she survived for ten years. She has been passionately despised for her brief but eventful tenure as Linda Barnes on “Criminal Minds” and had a glorious appearance as the first Kobali, Ensign Lindsay Ballard, on “Star Trek: Voyager”.
Kim graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Oregon (now) University with a BFA in acting and then completed the MFA program at Temple University in Philadelphia. She spent many happy years doing regional theater in places like the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon and American Player’s Theatre in Spring Green, Wisconsin. She also worked in a veterinary clinic and has neutered a cat.
She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, and numerous pets. She resists all advice and risks her spinal column on an almost daily basis due to her passion for riding horses and teaching the love to youngsters.
